The Manner of the Manor

Thiccson manor stood high above the trees surrounding it. Seated atop a hill on the most northern part of the city of Kelen. Most of the people in Kelen had worked for or still did work for the Thiccson family. The house itself was quite extravagant. Stretching far to the sides the curved wings of the house seemed to engulf those who approached. The brickwork was old and yet still bore the pride and power associated with the house. Inside the large green double doors the servants bustled about. Some going this way and others that. The morning sun had just begun to filter through the windows and the smell of fresh bacon came soothingly out of the kitchen. The butler of the house, Winn Thinnus, stood in the midst of the great hall. All of the servants seemed to be doing as he had asked. The house needed to be in the best shape possible for the master's return. Winn turned to the enchanted time piece on the wall.

'Almost 7:00. I had better head outside for his arrival'

Winn briskly stepped forward to the door and opened it. The chilly Trynitan weather immediately began to bite at his nose. He stood at attention as he waited with his eyes closed for his master to arrive.

Within minutes the sound of a carriage could be heard pulling into the driveway. Winn opened his eyes to see the gaudy carriage. A small smile passed across his lips. Now that Thane had returned Winn could finally resume his position as bodyguard.

The carriage pulled up to the door and the footman stepped down to open the door.

Stepping out into the cool morning the figure of Thane Thiccson emerged from the confines of the carriage....
